What is Paint Protection Film?

The Thermoplastic Urethane originally referred to as "Helicopter Tape" could be adhered to the blades to prevent damage and removed and replaced as needed.

PPF Evolution

In the 1980s Paint Protection Film was adopted by Automotive racing teams to protect the race cars from track debris, tire rubber and when the cars get just a little too close.

PPF Today

Paint Protection Film now commonly referred to as Clear Bra has come a long way from its inception. With a self healing top coat and UV inhibitors built in the PPF of today is more resilient to staining and discoloration to maintain its appearance.

frequently asked questions

1. What is XPEL Ultimate Plus Paint Protection Film?

XPEL Ultimate Plus is a high-performance, virtually invisible paint protection film (PPF) designed to protect your vehicle’s paint from damage caused by road debris, rocks, bugs, and environmental contaminants. It features a self-healing top layer that helps eliminate minor scratches and swirls, keeping your vehicle looking brand new.

2. How does the self-healing technology work?

The self-healing technology in XPEL Ultimate Plus works by utilizing a specially designed elastomeric polymer that returns to its natural shape after being disturbed. When exposed to heat, such as sunlight or hot water, the film’s surface repairs itself from minor scratches and swirl marks, leaving your paint looking flawless.

3. Is XPEL Ultimate Plus visible once installed?

XPEL Ultimate Plus is designed to be nearly invisible once installed. It has a high-gloss finish that enhances the appearance of your vehicle while providing robust protection. Most people won’t even notice it’s there, except for the fact that your paint will remain pristine.

4. Can XPEL Ultimate Plus be removed?

Yes, XPEL Ultimate Plus can be safely removed without damaging your vehicle’s paint. The film is designed with a strong adhesive that provides a secure bond while allowing for easy removal when needed. If you ever choose to remove or replace the film, it won’t leave any residue or harm the underlying paint.

5. How long does XPEL Ultimate Plus last?

XPEL Ultimate Plus is built to last. When professionally installed and properly maintained, the film can protect your vehicle for up to 10 years. It is resistant to yellowing, cracking, and peeling, ensuring long-lasting protection and appearance.

6. What areas of my vehicle can be protected?

XPEL Ultimate Plus can be applied to almost any painted surface on your vehicle. The most common areas include the hood, front bumper, fenders, side mirrors, door edges, rocker panels, and rear bumpers. However, full vehicle coverage is also an option for maximum protection.

7. Can I wash and wax my vehicle after installation?

Absolutely! XPEL Ultimate Plus is designed to be easy to maintain. You can wash your vehicle as usual and even apply wax to keep it looking its best. However, we recommend using waxes and sealants that do not contain harsh chemicals, as these can reduce the film’s longevity.

8. Will Clear Bra protect my vehicle from all types of damage?

While XPEL Ultimate Plus offers exceptional protection against most common threats like rock chips, scratches, and road debris, it is not bulletproof. It won’t prevent damage from severe impacts, and it doesn’t protect against deep, sharp scratches that penetrate the film.

9. How do I care for my vehicle after installing XPEL Ultimate Plus?

Caring for your vehicle with XPEL Ultimate Plus is simple. We recommend waiting 48 hours after installation before washing your vehicle. After that, you can wash and wax it as usual. Avoid using high-pressure water directly on the edges of the film and steer clear of harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools.

10. Does XPEL Ultimate Plus come with a warranty?

Yes, XPEL Ultimate Plus comes with a 10-year warranty against yellowing, discoloration, peeling, cracking, and other manufacturing defects. This warranty ensures that your investment is protected, and your vehicle’s paint remains in top condition
